Ranked #1: Heart Disease 

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States for both men and women.  Men account for more than half of the deaths that occur as a result of heart disease.  Coronary heart disease is the most common type of heart disease.

Percentage of Total Deaths: 24% of the 2.5 million annual deaths.

Ranked #2: CANCER 

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States for both men and women of all ages, races and ethnicity.  About 1,600 people die of cancer each day.
